Members passed two motions calling on Deakin NTEU members to commence a range of industrial actions. The second motion provided the branch a directive to commence planning a program of frequent and increasing industrial actions if management has not made significant progress toward agreement by June 30.

Additional public holidays are not granted off the back of Deakin’s kindness—rather, they are the outcome of a recent Full Federal Court decision on requirements to work public holidays.
