You Voted Yes! Deakin NTEU Branch Wins the Protected Action Ballot

The NTEU Deakin Branch is delighted to announce that we have won the protected industrial action ballot (PABO).

With 76% of members participating in the ballot, all eight questions on the ballot received an overwhelming majority “yes” vote, with over 95% voting for work stoppages.

Where do we go from here?

The Deakin Branch of the NTEU is now commencing the process of taking industrial action. During the all members meeting on April 17, we will discuss potential actions that members can take, and seek your advice on the most effective forms of action in the workplace.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who participated in the ballot. The turnout was impressive and sends a strong message to management that enough is enough. We deserve a fair pay rise, reasonable workloads, and an end to insecure work at Deakin.

We won. Now we’re moving to action.
